HP 3D High Reusability PA12 For Additive Manufacturing

Introduction

HP 3D High Reusability PA 12 is the widely used and most trusted material for additive manufacturing in the market. Products manufactured from PA 12 are strong, functional, chemically resistance and bio-compatible. Thus this material is considered as a high performance alternative to injection moulded materials like ABS and PA6 for new product development, rapid prototyping and batch production. PA12 thermoplastic is a recommended material for both new designers who want to try AM solutions and experienced professionals because of its highly precise and economical products.

Material Properties

The material has high impact resistance and better elongation at break compared to other substitute materials available in the market. HP 3D PA 12 embraces an excellent resistance to chemicals like aliphatic hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ketones, mineral bases and salts, alcohols, oils and greases. Products manufactured with HP PA12 are well suited against wear & tear and abrasion. HP 3D high reusability PA 12 material is bio-compatible and meets USP Class I-VI and US FDA guidelines for intact skin surface devices. The natural colour of printed parts is grey which will be a more economical option as compared to other materials in our library. However the desired colour can be achieved by applying some post-processing techniques such as graphite blasting, dying and painting. Since the material is light and UV stabilized, the product quality remains unaffected and unchanged with respect to the environmental conditions over a period of time. This particular grade of Nylon 12 is highly reusable (reprocessed up to 80% of surplus powder) which helps in minimizing the waste and ultimately leading to low cost economical parts. Multi-jet Fusion PA12 can produce watertight parts. However parts are not waterproof which means the 3D objects must not submerged in water for an extended period of time.

Technical properties of the MJF printed parts will be dependent upon the thickness and design of the product. Designers have to follow the design guidelines for MJF parts while designing the parts to be printed using MJF technology.

Applications

HP 3D High Reusability PA12 has great mechanical properties. Indeed this material offers flexibility and versatility while manufacturing 3D models of complex features which can only be possible with 3D printing as it offers isometric properties and high impact resistance. When we look at a Series of small components as a cost effective alternative to injection moulding, low volume production of complex and end used parts, prototype for fitment and functional testing, HP MJF PA12 material is best suited to cater your needs. The areas where we can use this material is very widely spread across various fields. In mechanical industries we can use PA 12 for proto development, tooling, lightweight and robust parts where strength to weight ratio plays an important role. Likewise in medical/healthcare field it is being adopted as to go material while manufacturing prosthesis and orthopaedic insoles. Apart from these two industries, electronics, ornamental, architecture and construction, fashion and even educational purposes this material is being used. In automobile sector this is mainly used for producing interior components for crash relevant parts.
